Most of our excellent team swag has already been mentioned in this blog but we thought it was high time that we actually post some pictures for our loyal readers. Dan really outdid himself (or maybe he just phoned it in... I don't really know) and combined our individual team logos into an excellent looking t-shirt. It's also quite intimidating to other teams; the bloody eye and burning flame indicate obvious danger while the blank stare of the chicken and missing face of the GNU conjure up more subtle nightmares. I think the unease the shirts evoke is responsible for our opponents taking at least an hour longer each leg. I feel sort of bad for the innocent bystanders though; every time a child screams and points, I wonder if we've gone too far.
We also each have two customized buttons with our names and epithets (mine is clearly the best) prominently displayed. Notice that on each button, only the appropriate logo appears in color.
And of course we wouldn't want our van to go unadorned, so Dan also ordered 3 car magnets... one for either side and I guess the third so we can be identified from space? It's difficult to tell the scale from the photo but each magnet is approximately the size of a two-car garage. This makes it difficult to affix them to the van without leaving some portions unattached to metal. Unfortunately this meant we lost our two side magnets during our first trip on a highway.
Not pictured above are our customized pencils, clipboards, hats, socks, luggage, water bottles, kazoos, ID cards and vomit bags. Lest you think Dan went overboard, he did decide against customized jockstraps.
Rumor has it there's a secret fifth member of the team -- but so far that's a secret known only to us and Zazzle...
